Garlic Butter Salmon and Shrimp

Ingredients
  

  • 4 fillets salmon skin-on or skinless
  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter divided
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • ½ teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ cup chicken broth or white wine
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 lemon sliced for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Season the salmon fillets with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Sear the salmon fillets for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and butter.
  • Sauté the minced garlic, red pepper flakes (if using), and shrimp for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turn pink.
  • Pour in the chicken broth (or white wine) and lemon juice, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pan.
  • Return the salmon fillets to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them.
  • Let everything simmer for 2 more minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices before serving.

Notes

Serve this dish with steamed vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal. For extra richness, you can add a splash of heavy cream to the sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
